-=| "I don't Know" |=-
It felt so weird this morning when my mother suddenly talked to me about EQ and how important it was in the society. Soon the conversation lead to my habit of saying 'I don't know', and that it creates an impression that I don't know what I want to do with my life and stuff. I remember that I once wrote this in my O levels English prelims, if I am not wrong the topic was 'What good habits do you have in common with my siblings'. Both my sister and I just cannot decide on what we want to eat and stuff. And anyway, one thing about me saying 'I don't know' and that it has became my habit is that maybe it was because I used to say what I want and feel about stuff, but people around me just does not like that idea. And that has caused me to say 'I don't know' to hear what the people around me want and feel before I make my decision, and therefore I think it is a good habit. I wrote something like that, and I kind of flunk that paper.

She continued blabbering about how when Australians turn 18 and they are on their own. I feel that those Indonesian who went over to Australia to study when they are in their 15 or 16s could easily finish their degree by their 20s. And that they could easily move out and rent an apartment somewhere out there with some of their savings, they might even have already owned their own car. And that because of the western influences they are independent and they think they do not need their parents and so that is where all the problems start. Like rude to parents, abandoning of the parents, and many other social problems.

Currently I am surviving on my own, and my parents are providing me with lodging, and dinner. And I have vowed to myself that when one day when I make it big and I have an ability to survive on my own, I would just move out and pay them what I owe them with interest. I think my mentality is very childish but I guess they have driven me too far.

I have a feeling that there are spies around who tells my parents what I wrote on my blog, or maybe my mum is a frequent reader of my blog and that she is really angry at my previous entry. But I have realized that both of them seemed to always discuss about strategies on how to subdue me, the demon. Ahhaz, well, I'm all gamed to see what you both have for me.

-=| 5 Ways to distract shoppers during the Great Singapore Sale |=-

It is only in seasons like these where Singaporeans turn nasty, so here are some of my ideas where people might want to try.=> Joezai

1. Pretend to be high class by walking around the shops with an elegant walk. Look at the bunch of busy shoppers, gaze at the hot items people are snatching, and stand next to them and say
"Oh this is so off... *Give a weird look and walk away*

2. Point at a direction and say
"Whoa! 10 bucks for a bag, what a great bargain"

3. Create a scene by trying to bargain with the shop assistant.
"What so much for a lousy top? The seam is already treading. What good quality your designer has chosen."
And try to chase away some of the customers by saying
"This shop has no quality, and some more so EXPENSIVE."

4. Try to convince a customer that at the other end of the island has an even better deal.
"Do you know? At Tampanies mall they are selling Converse shoes at just 30+ bucks, and the original pricing is 2 or even 3 times more, your children will surely like what you bought."

5. Shout "Tsunami! Tsunami! Run for you life, it is coming in from the Singapore River!"

Tip:
For better effect bring a big group of friends to go for such sale, one could queue up and everyone else could pool in their items.
When one gets in a tug, the others could pose as other strangers who wants that same item and win the tug for you, you all could gang up to create enough retention and let go at the same time to cause the other party to get a piece of you.
And that if the other party tries to argue, the whole group of you give them a glare of fury, the other party might just be too scared to react.

-=| Deprivation of brick game |=-

Okay so what did I do on my Birthday? You guys might be wondering why did I post those lame Chinese stuff on my birthday instead of something else more meaningful or sensible. Well I worked that day away as I was rushing for the mid month hand in, and it was a Friday which was a day which prohibits me to hang out. Life is not that bad after all; I got e most sms in a day of my whole life, actually it makes me sound really sad, because it was just about 5. Received a few handshakes here and there on Saturday giving me their wishes, whether those wishes were forced or very sincere I would like to thank all of you.

Remember a few posts ago I posted that I wished to go to the Turkish restaurant very much, after thinking over a few nights, I did not think my mum and sis would appreciate those middle eastern crusine and that they would surely compare the Turkish pizza with the pizza hut's pizza, which was a huge difference in quality, quantity, pricing and everything else. Don't you think so? It was like comparing roti prata with high-class butter croissants or bagel.

And that on Friday night they were suggesting 'The crystal Jade', 'Sizzler', 'Pizza Hut' and many others. But my dad wanted to stick with the Turkish restaurant, which was the cheapest. Frantically giving away lame excuses to prevent us from setting our plan on a specific restaurant.

'Singapore has employed many Malaysian cooks and many of them are used to cook with pork oil, and so it is not good to go to the Chinese Crystal Jade.'

And so on Saturday night the family went over to Toapayoh's Sizzler to have a huge stuffing as if we were 4 thanks giving turkeys, or should I say 4 toy teddies going through the last step of being filled in with those fiber and wool.

Remember just a few weeks ago I went for a job interview at Jurong? I went to their value shop and I saw the legendary Brick game hanging on the rack, it was just $2.05 and I guess it was just a good bargain. Ever since then it has been my kill time buddy, playing it everyday as if I would die not playing it. But it has been about a month now, and the button has became loose due the frequent playing, and it was discovered when I was playing level 13 and I was trying to rotate the brick but that button just would not work and before I knew it, it was the end of my game. Nowadays when I am doing nothing, I would just get images in my head of how the brick falls nicely into the brick formation like what happens in the game, I guess I became too dependent on that game and that it feels like a cold turkey when I am not playing the game.

It was so mysterious, it was just last night when dad was about to bathe my sis told me that she wants to show me something, she went to her bag and took out a... ... let me continue it in the following post next week.

He he he...... don't you just hate it when shows always stop right smack on the exciting part of every show?

She took out a black note book and in front of it was 3 skulls on it wrote something about 'Beyond redemption... ...', just then my dad came out looking very suspicious gazing at us and pretended to be normal and walked into the kitchen. Phew, I flipped the book to the back in the niche of time. It was just so cool, and my sis said that it was very gothic and thought that I might like it. And yeah I just like it so much; my sister got it from the fund raising fair at Tampines poly. Phew! Wonder what would my father's expressions be when he sees the picture on the book.

Pulls my sister's earrings, *ear tears and becomes a pair of split ears*, he struggles to hold on to my sister's hair and with both hands try to reap off her hair. Hair flying everywhere...(Deep in his heart says "I have always wanted to do that"... jealous of those ear lops which he regretted not piercing during his young days, and that nice long and thick hair which he cannot keep any more as he has lost most of them."I have always wanted to be a hippie, i cannot, so do u")
Tells her 'What are you trying to teach your brother!'

Twists my ear and pulls me to one side and gives me a long lecture that the book is evil.

Okay okay okay that's too drama, hahaha, but I'm not surprised if my dad did that, he is just a tyrant, do not be deceived by his holiness at church.

-=| Birthdays... |=-

It was just yesterday, where my parents were asking me how I wanted to celebrate my birthday, and if I wanted a cake (Even then I would not expect too much, as it was just a casual remark, knowing them they will not do much). I told them that I will wish to celebrate it with my cousins and the cake was not a big thing for me. As for the family dinner, I guess I will want a simple dinner at the Turkish restaurant at Far East, but sadly it falls on a Friday, so I guess I could trash that idea, as we would not be quick enough to reach home, seat around in a circle and read the holy scriptures and sing Kum Baya near the fire place. I guess they were quite shock at my decision, but oh well I guess the details were not really important to me.

Looking over a year ago, on the day 19 May 2005, given compared living at home nowadays was a difference of heaven and earth. I could remember carefully that on that day Mum was vacating in Bangkok, and I was having my last few papers of my mid year Exams. My dad was not home that day, which will not make a difference even if he did, and so did my sister. Spend the whole day stoning on the sofa and day passed as if it was a millennium. All I have received that day was an sms or 2 from people, and some knowledge from the force study I did. Ahh! Lets not go further digging the past. But anyways I guess that was what which created my perception of birthdays.

I personally feel that celebration of birthdays is just a ritual tradition that has been brought down for generations by different nationalities and cultures. And I also feel that presents, cakes, balloons, party streamers, and items that come straight into the mind when people mention "birthday", are just material objects which enhances the surroundings which creates a atmosphere to make the birthday personnel feel special, and therefore is not really important to me. I think that of all the different cultures, rituals and traditions the common similarity is that family and friends gathering around to have fun. And I guess these memories are something which cannot be bought or created with money and therefore is very precious.

Imagine having a whole room filled with balloons, and streamers nicely framed round the room. Having a huge nicely decorated cake as the centerpiece of that room. Isn't it a typical scenario of a birthday scene? However the birthday boy/girl is all alone left in that 'marvelous' room.

And imagine with me again, if there is an empty room, having maybe the floor just with a few beanbags. But the room is filled up with a small group of friends, and they are all having fun.

I guess I would choose the second scenario, where a small group of friends cram together, having fun together. Although neither are there cakes, nor presents, I sure will have more fun then the first scenario where I had everything.

Well I do not expect much for this year, people say the higher you expect the harder you fall. So I shall see what sadness befall upon me this year. Anyways I have already given myself the most expensive present I have ever given myself on Monday; I went for my first studio photo shoot. I felt a little cheated though, but I guess it was all worth it.

PS: I hope the document above will not create a hesitant in anyone to get me a present, but I am also not hereby to force you to get me one either.

-=| Change of hairdo. |=-

For those people who hasn't seen me recently i've changed my hair do again. Yup!Again, the straight hair in my head is growing out, so i had to do something about my "twist perm", as the there were lots of texture around my head, but the top is really flat.So to change the hairdo, this time is straightened.I can still remember the previous hairdo was about 6 months ago, so i guess it's about time.

The before hairdo.

The DIY ironed look.

The rebonded straight sleek hair.

Arghh! i havn't got a great great picture yet, so there will be better pictures coming out.

-=| Project Runway is back |=-

Yup! One of my favourite Show is back. And that Daniel Franco which joined the first season is also back. When i saw him in his first season where he did that jacket, i was quite amazed, however he was casted out that episode. His design was disliked by the judges as it was a lousy plastic bag and not something new, but suprisingly Kelvin wrapped a shower curtain around the model stayed. Well he did't really do that well for the second episode too, he only stayed till the forth episode. Well so Project Runway is showing soon on Channel 5 somewhere in late May, so catch the series and see how the designers actually fight their way through.

Daniel's paper jacket with barbage bag dress.

"Daniel Franco, a native of Los Angeles, California, was born November 11, 1971.

He holds both a bachelor of fine arts degree from Otis College of Art and Design and an associate’s degree in fashion design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.

In 1995, Franco received critical acclaim when he was voted Best Designer in a nationwide contest for fashion students by The Fashion Group International. He received top honors in both the career and the leisure categories. By 1999 he had broadened his design experience by working in New York City as a fashion forecaster, assisting Richard Tyler and designing for BCBG.

Also in 1999, Franco designed his first clothing line, which was sold exclusively through Saks Fifth Avenue. He took a five-year hiatus from the fashion industry to run his family’s business when his father took ill, but returned to the fashion world as a contestant on the first season of "Project Runway." His experience on the show inspired him to relaunch the Daniel Franco collection with his first fashion show. His debut was well received by buyers, media and critics alike, which motivated him to return to television for another chance at "Project Runway."

Daniel Franco is now creating his fall 2006 collection for LA Fashion week in March."

-=| Revenge of the female race... |=-

I feel that looking for a job nowadays is really hard. What I have is just a 'O' Level cert, which means I would not be able to work with those highly skilled job. Looking through classifieds you might say, but the popular jobs there are telemarketer, restaurant crew, and sales assistant. It is really frustrating, as almost half the calls I have made was an "Oh sorry, this is a female working environment." this is such a sexist world. And their reason for that is that ladies can persuade the customers better. Peh! Employ ladies to "seduce" Tikos to patronise. Wasn't there a time in history where women just couldn't get any jobs? i guess it's the other way now.

Been to the shop Yellow at Jurong point, then I saw this sign of T-shirts at 10 bucks. I was like Wow, it is a must look. Went in and I saw that it was just a few in saleable rags, and other nicer T-shirts at $28.90. I just took a look and the lady manager asked if I needed assistance, I said I was just looking around. She seemed to not understand what I was articulating; she came over and said lots of stuff about the T-shirt. Well in my heart the shirt was quite nice so I do not mind getting it. Soon after, another lady assistant came out and tried to impress me with a market looking pants, saying that there was a specially employed designer who designed the pants which matches the top perfectly. I was very reluctant, but she kept talking me into buying it, and soon gave up, I would say her speech was very well planned. Her manager came up and took over, by then I was really tired of saying no, what I wanted is to quickly leave this place and get home soon. So I gave in, and went home swearing to never enter such shop ever again.

The main point of this is not to say that I give in when I am really tired; it is just that I really hate people talking me in into something I really do not want to do. And sadly that is how the society gets their economy circulating.

-=| Phobia of elderly... |=-

I feel that I've been having real close fate with old ladies nowadays, and I guess a phobia against them has just started for me.

Like this afternoon, I just finished eating my food, and this old lady came to my table and tried to clear it. She used a tissue paper to grab the bones and threw it into a bowl of soup, and the soup splashed onto my hand. When I was about to flare up, she knew trouble was coming her way, so she said 'sorry' profusely, and of course I did not scold her.

Then on Saturday afternoon, there was this bohemian lady who wore lots of crystals on her hands, a striped panned cap and a red hot pants to church.

She said 'Clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, faster clean!'(Rash tone...)
Bitchy me 'Treat us like maid like that loh.'

She wanted people to help her clean up the washed pots. Then Nicholas and I went to help her. She handed us wet cloths, and asked us to wipe the pots dry. 'Rolls eyes and in my heart thinking that it would be a impossible task.'

But anyway I proceeded to help to 'wipe the pots dry'. I tried to ask her if she has any dry cloths. She showed me a twisting of cloth and 'kindly taught' me how to squeeze dry the cloth, 'OMG' like I don't know. In my heart really felt like throwing that piece of rag on her, even my mum will talk to me with that tone. Wiped up the superficial layer of pot, and threw the cloth on the table and walked away in fury.

Anyways that was about how the phobia of old ladies started for me. I'm working for my uncle who has connections with DHL, and I'm invited to watch the 'Mission impossible III' premier, well I hope it's good. That's all folks.
