I feel that looking for a job nowadays is really hard. What I have is just a 'O' Level cert, which means I would not be able to work with those highly skilled job. Looking through classifieds you might say, but the popular jobs there are telemarketer, restaurant crew, and sales assistant. It is really frustrating, as almost half the calls I have made was an "Oh sorry, this is a female working environment." this is such a sexist world. And their reason for that is that ladies can persuade the customers better. Peh! Employ ladies to "seduce" Tikos to patronise. Wasn't there a time in history where women just couldn't get any jobs? i guess it's the other way now.
Been to the shop Yellow at Jurong point, then I saw this sign of T-shirts at 10 bucks. I was like Wow, it is a must look. Went in and I saw that it was just a few in saleable rags, and other nicer T-shirts at $28.90. I just took a look and the lady manager asked if I needed assistance, I said I was just looking around. She seemed to not understand what I was articulating; she came over and said lots of stuff about the T-shirt. Well in my heart the shirt was quite nice so I do not mind getting it. Soon after, another lady assistant came out and tried to impress me with a market looking pants, saying that there was a specially employed designer who designed the pants which matches the top perfectly. I was very reluctant, but she kept talking me into buying it, and soon gave up, I would say her speech was very well planned. Her manager came up and took over, by then I was really tired of saying no, what I wanted is to quickly leave this place and get home soon. So I gave in, and went home swearing to never enter such shop ever again.
The main point of this is not to say that I give in when I am really tired; it is just that I really hate people talking me in into something I really do not want to do. And sadly that is how the society gets their economy circulating.
