-=| Andrew's house |=- Foresighted to know that Christmas weekend would be chaotic with programs, our cell group had brought forth the Christmas party by a week (16/12/2006). We spend a fabulous sleep over at the Phua's, causing noise disturbance to the family. The evening started off meeting at Sembawang's Sun plaza. Being famous for the cheapest shop in town the cell members help themselves with snacks and other necessities. The Phua's were just a bus journey away from Sembawang. On reaching the gate, an extravagant staircase spiraled down to greet us. The Phua's lived in an extravagant estate, furnished with the fusion of European and oriental. It was such a pleasure to stay over at the Phua's. The night started off hogging Andrew's private chambers with our baggage. Stumbling over his bed, testing out the springs and snuggling up under his blanket of warmth. Some others headed to the kitchen to start preparing dinner. Dinner was fantastic, and the potato wedges were the hit on. Seated around the table, with a lazy Susan in the middle, signifying the togetherness the cell group shares. We chatted and socialized with each other, not to care of what holds tomorrow. ![]() The icebreaker game host by Christon started the ball rolling, getting to know each other better. The activity of the night was the gift exchange. Everyone had his or her gifts in the middle, using the phrase "The first shall be the last, and the last shall be the first" to set the rules of the exchange. The first would get to pick any present of his or her choice, but the second would get to pick any gifts from the middle or the present the first chose. The third would get to pick any presents from the middle, or from the people of the first and second's. The list goes on and the last person gets to choose any gift available. ![]() The night carried on with movies, the first to be shown on screen was Memoir's of a Geisha. I interrupted the movie with a bowl of ice cream, as if I were to not dish it out everyone would be just too tired to eat. They continued watching sky high and many other shows, but Shaun, Nicholas, Ashree, Joel Toh, and I continued our night with cards. The big fight of the Joel-s against the others were strong, Nicholas and Ash soon retired to their deepest slumber. It was left with Shaun and the Joel-s. Who would win? The game went on till the crack of dawn, no one counted the number of wins and we were too tired to bother. Our voices in the game were kept at quite a loud volume, and it had woken up the whole house, but no one said anything. Miraculously everyone got up at 7 and we had a scrumptious breakfast at the prata place next door. Breakfast was a treat from the Phua's and I guess everyone had a great time. |
