![]() -=| Last night's dinner |=- Last night's dinner was very boring, all we did was to discourage dad for purchasing the budget airline tickets to Cambodia during the national day weekend. Who wants to go there? Knowing dad he would want to safe cost everywhere we go. I would rather spend time at home to watch the parade, or to even work on my projects then to go overseas to look at hills and mountains. We have not been overseas for many years; the last time I went abroad was to go to KL. Shall we just stay in Singapore for a long period of time to save up for a nicer location? I guess it would not work, as the money would be channeled away to things like a new bike, more ugly plants, boring health books and evangelistic DVDs that are in poor quality. Some how or rather dad has been affected by the Gavin and Sparrows group that came last December. He quoted from the bible something about during the end times the son, fathers, and grandfathers must stand together, I guess it did not work for him and never will. I do not think it would work for me either, we are of totally different worlds, and I cannot imagine for us to be united together. Even while we are discussing over the bible (the only thing we can converse about) he has his funny reasoning that sounds really absurd, things, which are assumed and connected by similar events. He envies the close connection other families have, he feels that he is a failure in parenting and feels inferior when others talk about the close knitted relationship they have. But sorry to say, I am very happy at our current state because it feels like we can do away with his presence. |
