Sorry guys, i havn't been updating thiss ite. Man! School is ending in 2 weeks. It's another round of accessment, lots of work to catch up with. Time to enter the realm of living dead.
Yup, i went to join this competition with my friend Riddy. Come vote for me, but i don't know how.
"UNLEASH THE CONTENDERS"
On 31st March 2007, a milestone was achieved. Paper People held its inaugural Paper People Design Competition (PPDC '07) showcase at the Singapore Art Museum. One of our supporters, the Beats Society provided the entertainment, with rockers, rappers and balladeers among their musical lineup. Competition was tough, and attracted entries from neighboring Malaysia and Australia, Hong Kong and even Canada with a couple of last minute entries past the deadline.
Applicants were encouraged to decorate their exhibition space, and many did. Adding props helped to complement their artwork, while telling the story behind the designs and how their concepts come about. During the interview with the judges and the artist himself, the applicants were fervent in explaining their artwork concept and story. Overall, many told a similar story. They were excited at having their artwork exposed to the public and held high praise for them. There is such a thing as local talents and all of us should be proud of it.
Being part of the showcase was rewarding enough, although the prize money played a part too. (Well, who doesn’t want to win $1,000 right?)
Judging criteria is based on creativity, clarity of artwork, design conceptualization and reproducibility, amongst others. After seeing all the impressive entries, it was an arduous process to announce the top three. As a result, the judges have decided to re-evaluate their thoughts on some of the designs, resulting in a delay the results announcement. The results from the competition will be announced here on 23rd April 2007, along with the launch of the winning notebook design in our store. We hope to see all of you again for the next PPDC '08. Probably with a bigger goodie bag and prices.
